This is a special opportunity to get an inside look at Pittsburgh’s last urban brownfield redevelopment. Hazelwood Green is a unique 178-acre site with a prominent riverfront location and plateau terrain. A former steel mill site that employed thousands before the decline of the U.S. steel industry, Hazelwood Green is envisioned to become a world-class model for sustainable development, with a site-wide goal of net positive energy. Rebecca Flora of ReMake Group and Hazelwood Green’s Project Director will kick off the tour with some site history and information about its sustainability goals. We’ll then walk around the site to check out a few highlights, including stormwater management, connectivity & accessibility, and existing infrastructure. The walk will be about 1 mile in length.
*The tour is subject to minimum occupancy requirements.
